MAKITA Corporation of America, a worldwide leading producer of high quality power tools, is seeking a Materials Coordinating Section Manager to become a part of our team!
Job Qualifications:
Required:
· College degree in business or logistics or equivalent work experience.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials coordinating and or inventory control.
· Thorough working knowledge of MRP systems.
· Provides guidance and direction to support the transition of standard MAP system.
· Experience working with custom brokers, forwarders, and Import Ocean transportation services.
Preferred:
· Prior supervisory or management experience
Job Responsibilities:
· Manage employees involved in materials scheduling and purchasing.
· Coordinate materials scheduling activities to meet the Master Production Schedule
· Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Materials section against established goals for inventory levels, data base accuracy, parts shortages, and material cost containment.
· Analyze, identify, and implement improvements to the ordering process cycle. This includes a review of the best economic ordering quantities (T/Q).
· Determine manpower requirement for the Materials section.
· Establish and maintain three document systems, procedures, and training to assure that the materials coordinating sections activities are in conformance with the Makita Management System.
· Work directly with outside suppliers to resolve component availability and negotiate for best prices.
· Participate with other MCA managers in the evaluation of suppliers of direct materials and components.
· Support MCA’s Sox initiative
· Negotiate yearly freight contracts with Import Ocean transportation companies.
· Submit the quarterly Harbor Freight maintenance fee form and submit data to USA customs.
· Maintain procedures to insure they are in compliance with ISO and MCA quality standards.
· Coordinate the quarterly outside vendor audit of Makita Supplied materials
· Coordinate the yearly Makita fixed assets audit at the outside vendors.
· Maintain accurate freight rate codes in MAP and adjust in vendor master accordingly.
· Coordinate the yearly request for county of origin.
