Job Description

Job Overview

The Materials Planning Specialist will liaise with multiple internal and external business partners to design and maintain an accurate and dependable materials planning forecast. Will be instrumental in both raw material need planning and end product inventory management.


Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data, trends
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.


Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to inventory levels, sales forecasts, and supplier performance.
  • Analyze and forecast sales demand using information from the company's direct sales force, key external customers, and top-performing distributors in Latin America, as well as historical sales data and trends.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management processes and systems to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with various sales teams, customers, and distributors to gather forward-looking projections and refine demand forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including the sales team, operations, and executive management.
  • Oversee the stone management consumable inventory, providing early warning notices to executive and sales management teams in case of potential stock shortages.
  • Work closely with the inventory buyer to place purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring they have enough lead time to respond to our growing demand.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to optimize order quantities, delivery schedules, and inventory levels.


Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with inventory management software.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense account up to date.
  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining salesforce activities and opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data, trends, and projections.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus, given the focus on Latin American distributors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Business Development Manager


Aptitude

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, correlation and regression. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
