We’re looking for a scrappy, curious, and open-minded candidate who is passionate about working with data to solve complex SEO initiatives and optimization plans, as well as helping shape our own internal SEO playbook.

As our SEO Specialist, you will be a key individual contributor executing our SEO strategies that drive high-quality engagement with our hardware engineering audience. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a complete overhaul and relaunch of our website and involvement in bringing our resources and voice to the engineering community

Responsibilities:

50% Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

• Conduct SEO treatment for multiple team members and historical content, including thought leadership, marketing assets, technical articles, tutorials, and backlink-building blog posts
• Mentors team members on SEO best practices, strategies & latest insights
• Conduct natural search research and share insights
• Lead the SEO treatment for the website overhaul - implementing best practices into new web pages in terms of structure, layout, and copywriting
• Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
• Direct, participate in and regularly communicate Website/App SEO Audits & Competitive Search Analyses
• Assist with building and optimizing the internal linking strategy to maximize rankings
• Conduct keyphrase research for organic search, LinkedIn and YouTube
• Analyze influential outlets in the hardware engineering space to improve our ranking and backlinks (i.e. Design News, EEWorld, Hackaday)
• Develop, manage and provide SEO related reporting

30% Website overhaul

We are conducting a complete overhaul of our website and need your help with SEO! Our ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and an innate ability to turn our content into web-ready, SEO-treated resources for prospects and existing customers.

20% Social Media

• Engage in conversations with individuals who fit our Ideal Customer Profile, as well as relevant companies within the hardware space
• Manage deliverables and timelines
• Contribute to content posting on channels such as LinkedIn, Twitter (X), and Facebook.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of content marketing, performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
• Communication Skills – speaks and writes clearly and articulately
• A passion for connecting queries to content, and a commitment to making sure the right content is produced, and is found by those who are looking for it
• Familiarity with SEO platforms (i.e. Semrush, Moz, ahrefs)
• Exceptional organizational skills and can juggle multiple projects in a startup environment
• Provide training and education for team members less versed in SEO
• Strong teamwork skills—the ability to work with others as well as the confidence and skill to contribute ideas independently
• In-depth experience with website analytics (i.e. Google Analytics)
• Enjoys problem-solving and has the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
• An understanding of how to convert content that appeals to both our audience and search engines at once

This position pays $25/ hour and is fully remote, with a flexible work schedule. If you are a highly motivated student who is passionate about creating and delivering a robust SEO strategy driven by performance improvements, we’d like to have you as part of the team this fall!
