Job Description

Role Overview:

The Marketing Data Analyst will focus on eCommerce and Performance Marketing and plays a crucial role in optimizing and maximizing the effectiveness of digital marketing efforts in driving revenue and growth for the eCommerce business. This position is responsible for leveraging data analytics and insights to provide actionable recommendations, improve campaign performance, identify customer behavior patterns, and support data-driven decision-making within the eCommerce and performance marketing teams. The Marketing Data Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product, and data engineering, to ensure data accuracy and alignment with business goals.


Responsibilities:

Ecommerce Analytics:

  • Identify opportunities for optimizing the eCommerce platform, user experience, and conversion rates through data-driven insights.
  • Provide insights on customer segmentation, product affinity, and cross-selling/up-selling opportunities to support eCommerce merchandising strategies.
  • Analyze and track key eCommerce KPIs, such as Average Order Value (AOV), Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV), and Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of eCommerce data, including customer journeys, conversion rates, website traffic, sales funnel performance, and product performance metrics.


Performance Marketing Optimization:

  • Conduct ROI analysis to assess the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns and allocate budgets accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to set performance marketing goals and KPIs aligned with eCommerce revenue targets.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools and techniques to evaluate and optimize performance marketing channels, such as paid search, paid social, display advertising, and affiliate marketing.
  • Provide recommendations on campaign targeting, ad creatives, bidding strategies, and attribution models to improve performance and increase customer acquisition and retention.


Customer Insights and Segmentation:

  • Analyze customer behavior data to identify patterns, preferences, and trends, and develop customer segments for targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Provide insights on customer churn, lifetime value, and retention strategies to support customer relationship management initiatives.
  • Work with the marketing team to personalize marketing efforts through data-driven insights, including dynamic content, personalized offers, and tailored messaging.


Data Management and Reporting:

  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate eCommerce and performance marketing insights to stakeholders.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights to drive data-driven decision-making across the eCommerce and marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to implement and maintain eCommerce analytics infrastructure and data governance practices.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable data collection, integration, and reporting across various eCommerce and marketing platforms.


Industry Trends and Best Practices:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to eCommerce analytics and performance marketing and make recommendations for adoption.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, eCommerce benchmarks, and best practices in performance marketing and eCommerce analytics.
