Position: Marketing Analyst Intern

Location: Carlsbad, CA (Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Hours: 20 hours per week

Duration: 4 months (July 2023 - October 2023)

Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and analytical Marketing Analyst Intern to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with sales leadership and executive leadership to conduct an in-depth study of a specific broadband market segment. Your insights and recommendations will play a crucial role in shaping our marketing strategies and enhancing our competitive position within the market. This is a hybrid internship role, and you will report to our Carlsbad, CA office three days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with sales leadership and executive leadership to define key objectives and deliverables for the project.
• Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify market opportunities, customer preferences, and potential barriers to entry.
• Monitor and track the status of research, providing regular reports and updates to key stakeholders.
• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of the assigned broadband market segment, including customer demographics, competitors, market trends, and industry dynamics.
• Utilize statistical models, data visualization, and other analytical tools to interpret and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Assist in the development of marketing strategies, campaigns, and initiatives targeted at the identified market segment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop actionable insights and recommendations based on the research findings.

Requirements:

• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience working with large multi-month research projects resulting in large format deliverables.
• Previous experience in market research, data analysis, or marketing-related internships is a plus.
• Familiarity with the broadband industry or telecommunications sector is desirable.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, R, Python, or similar software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, organize, and analyze complex data sets.

Career Development: While initially a Marketing Analyst Intern role, there is potential for this position to evolve into a Sales Operations role based on performance and organizational needs. We encourage interns who demonstrate strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a passion for the telecommunications industry to explore this potential career path.

Note: The internship will commence in July 2023 and last for approximately four months.

What to expect

The interview process for successful candidates will be a phone interview followed by a virtual interview, with a final in-person interview in our Carlsbad, CA (or other local) office. References will be requested.
