JOB MISSION:
New Balance’s Manufacturing Engineer of the MADE Commercialization Team will create, build and execute Engineering strategies to ensure the success of New Product Launches and Support the Development of New Technologies to expand our Manufacturing Capabilities. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, design and direct safe manufacturing processes to maximize efficiencies, eliminate waste and improve quality.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITES:
- Manages continuous improvement and cost reduction projects. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished products and process capabilities, establishing standards and confirming manufacturing processes. Follows up to ensure action items are timely completed and that financial goals are achieved.
- Assists in vetting out New Technology and Capabilities for Manufacturing Readiness
- Actively manages and supports all manufacturing engineering functions during the development, commercialization and launch of new products
- Increase manufacturing efficiencies by recommending and implementing process enhancements relating to waste elimination by improving equipment design, layout, process flow, quality and safety.
- Manages all aspects of new or revised product development including involvement in the design review process, evaluating manufacturability of the product, creating factory prototypes and overseeing product trials.
- Identifies and creates new engineering opportunities that will bring operational advantages towards providing long term competitive advantages.
- Implementation of innovation technologies which demonstrates New Balance’s commitment to Domestic manufacturing growth to further move the organization toward a Top 3 Global Athletic Brand status.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with modern manufacturing techniques and equipment with a focus on Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and lead change initiatives and role model the NB Leadership Competencies consistently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly PC literate with a focus on MS Office; CAD; Project Management and Control Charts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strategic project planning, analytical and technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods.
- Must be open to occasional travel to out-of-state Manufacturing Facilities
- Experience with new process and new equipment introduction to include an understanding of process and equipment validation.

Flexible Work Schedule
