The Manager, Strategy and Initiatives is a member of the Corporate Affairs team reporting to the Vice President of Strategy and Initiatives. This role will work collaboratively across numerous functions of the company to drive alignment and progress against large-scale strategic initiatives that drive both business and brand value for Hertz. Key stakeholders that this role will interact with regularly include: Operations, Communications, Government Affairs, Marketing, as well as third-party consultants.
BUSINESS IMPACT:
- Develops trusted relationships across internal business verticals
- Plays a critical role in ensuring timely, high-quality strategic initiatives are successfully progressing
- Drives accountability and improves cross-functional collaboration
- Distills progress on initiatives into concise memos, decks, and other presentation materials
Job Contributions:
- Enable a culture of collaborative planning and execution
- Manage team-wide COO administrative functions such as creating calendars and slides detailing progress across the Corporate Affairs function
- Manage third-party vendor onboarding and relationships to meet key projects milestones and deliverables
- Establish and improve processes to make cross-functional work more effective
- Develop high-quality presentation materials detailing roadmaps for strategic initiatives
- Gain stakeholder buy-in by understanding each vertical of the business and having regular engagement with key internal stakeholders
- Create and maintain tools and trackers to manage progress against each workstream of Corporate Affairs strategic initiatives
Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related work experience in strategic planning and/or program management.
- Keen to develop a deep understanding of our business and strategic priorities, including Hertz’s commitment to electrification.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred
- Ability to navigate complex and evolving strategies; ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results with a strong sense of urgency.
- Excellent PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel skills; ability to make inferences from data sets.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strategic thinking
- Proven ability to collaborate across multiple functions and levels within an organization.
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $100,000 and $115,000/year depending on experience, skills, etc. There is also a yearly target bonus of 10% plus an opportunity for profit-sharing. 40% discount on car rentals.
