The Details:
Location:Hybrid work Headquartered in Downtown Seattle, remote work possible from AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, OR, TN, VA, WA
Work Schedule:Our typical business hours are 8:30-5:00 PST Monday-Friday.

About the Position:
Reporting to the Director of Curriculum, the Manager of Curriculum will lead a team of Instructional Designers and support positions who create Basic, Advanced and Continuing Education courses for home care aides. This position will collaborate with a team of peers within Learning Course Development (LCD) team:
- Manager of Curriculum Research – leading a team of competency-based curriculum writers who research and provide source content to the curriculum teams.
- Manager of Curriculum Quality Assurance – leading a team of editors, QA specialists and instructional designers who provide editing, and quality assurance across the LCD team.
- Manager of Visual Production – leading a team of visual production staff who are responsible for all portions of the video, image, and illustration creation process.
Together, these teams work closely together to create competency-based learning for the fastest-growing job in the nation.
In addition, the Manager of Curriculum Development also works closely with other teams outside the Department but within the larger Training Partnership, Benefits Group Trusts (shared services), and outside stakeholders such as DSHS.
You Will:
- Collaborate with the Technology team overseeing LMS administration to align requirements and specifications;
- Delegate programs and project work to the team and review the work deliverables against established best practices and internal standards of quality;
- Work closely with the Learning Program Implementation team to identify timelines and manage schedules to meet expectations of internal and external stakeholders like DSHS and as outlined in governing documents;
- Closely collaborate with trust managers and directors in planning activities and completing work outcomes;
- Ensure outcomes are completed and follow the department roadmap, trust strategic plan and the Collective Bargaining Agreement;
- Collaborate with Research, Insights and Innovation to better understand caregiver support, training interests and opportunities for improvement as noted in course evaluations.
- Support the Learning Academy by providing Train the Trainer (T3) sessions to onboard facilitators to newly developed courses;
- Manage, coach and mentor a team of curriculum professions with our managerial competencies and Mission, Vision and Values;
- Mentor instructional designers and assessment writers to create knowledge based and performance based assessment items;
- Create and implement an efficient course development process for online, virtual and in person courseware within the team and for delivery through the learning management system for caregivers;
- Own timelines, budget, vendors and success metrics for mapped outcomes;
- Work closely and collaborate cross-functionally within the Training Partnership and Shared Services, including Learning Program Implementation, Learning Academy, Technology and Research Insights and Implementation;
- Take on additional duties as assigned to assist in furthering ad hoc organizational priorities.
- Mentor and lead instructional designers to design blended learning curricula and individual courses;

You Will Need to Have:
- Ability to collaborate across teams and focus on achieving outcomes;
- Facilitation skills and ability to communicate effectively in 1:1 or 1:many situations;
- 5+ years of instructional design experience with direct responsibility for producing courses;
- A drive to share knowledge across team boundaries;
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in managing teams, preferably in learning design and development;
- Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across functional work streams;
- Attention to detail and follow-through;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Deep knowledge of learning theory and the learning sciences, with particular focus on digital learning best practices;
- Extensive understanding of competency-based learning.
- Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education or other applicable field or equivalent experience, Master’s degree preferred;
- 3+ years working with learning content authoring and management tools;
- Budget and project management experience;
It Will Be Great if You Have:
- Experience designing competency-based learning.
- Experience in healthcare, long-term care and or learning industries;
- Master’s degree preferred in instructional design, instructional technology, education, or other applicable field or equivalent experience;
Salary Range:
- $90,000 to $109,500
