Help grow, develop and retain an expanding, virtual team of professionals who are motivated by daily opportunities to improve the safety, quality, accessibility and equity of health care. Health Quality Innovators (HQI) is seeking a positive, energetic, SHRM-certified HR generalist who performs routine “must-do” tasks and higher-level strategic work with equal enthusiasm.
HQI is multi-faceted and you must be, too. We are a non-profit organization that competes for government contracts and are increasing the services we offer directly to health care providers. While we currently maintain a small physical office, our more than 60 team members are permanently home-based in 10 states across the country. Last fall, we implemented a matrix organizational structure; we have a cadre of rising leaders climbing a new career ladder. Our team member development team has made some great updates to existing HR programs and is eager to work with you to formalize a leadership development program.
As HR Manager, you will play a key role in HQI’s growth by coordinating the sourcing, vetting, hiring and onboarding talent, as well as ensuring our continual compliance with federal employment laws and requirements (e.g., Service Contract Act). Other responsibilities include proactively managing compensation and benefits, training and assisting managers with team member (employee) relations, monitoring employment law and updating HR policies as needs arise (e.g., workplace COVID-19 vaccination requirements), administering the performance evaluation process, coordinating internal training and education. This position reports to the President & Chief Executive Officer and serves on the HQI leadership team.
HQI is a seven-time winner of the Best Places to Work designation, most recently in 2022. This is a terrific opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being a working manager to join an organization that is always learning and improving. In addition, because this is a remote position, you will have the flexibility that comes with working from home.
About Health Quality Innovators (HQI)
HQI is a non-profit health care quality consulting organization that has improved care delivery, patient safety and outcomes for millions of people since 1984. Many of our services are funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other federal health agencies. We work with hospitals, nursing homes, physician practices, public health agencies, community groups, stakeholder organizations, and patients and family members that want to make sustainable change.
Our team members are energized by opportunities to reduce avoidable harms, improve population health, make health care more equitable, and align technology with care delivery. The HQI culture values creativity, teamwork and integrity as essential elements of producing excellent work. We believe in the importance of work/life balance and actively support professional growth. HQI offers a friendly, respectful and collaborative work environment that allows team members to bring their real selves to work every day.
Requirements:
a) Five to seven years’ experience in progressively more responsible HR positions.
b) PHR credential, SPHR credential is a plus.
c) Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field.
d) Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to be a productive remote worker, manage competing priorities, coach team members, and advise managers. Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills.
e) Strong ability to interpret data and use Microsoft Office tools. Proficiency using and maintaining an HRIS.
f) Because HQI is a federal government contractor, candidates must be able to document full immunization against COVID-19 before they can be eligible for an offer of employment.
Competitive salary and attractive benefit package that includes a 401 (k) matching program, a monthly technology allowance and generous tuition reimbursement. We maintain a drug free workplace and are a M/F Disabled and Vet/EEO/AA Employer. Go to www.HQI.solutions/careers to apply.
