Job Description

About the Role

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven must continue to develop and enhance strong relationships with future partners. In that effort, we are seeking a Manager, Higher Education Partnerships & New Site Development. This person will develop and support implementation of strategies designed to strengthen our existing Higher Education Partnerships (HEPs) and to cultivate and launch new regions and new sites within existing regions.


This role is on the External Affairs team and reports to both the Head of New Site Development and the Director of HEPs & Fellow Recruitment.


What You’ll Do


Higher Education Partnerships (50% of time)

  • Support the planning and execution of our annual convening of higher education leaders across existing, new and potential sites, including supporting with booking the venue, event logistics, confirming speakers, etc.
  • Analyze data for internal team and create data visualizations to convey key concepts to an external university audience.
  • Develop and enhance HEP related systems and tools to support central and regional execution including the Higher Education Game Plan.
  • Provide excellent customer service by collaborating closely with regional teams on communications and strategy support needs
  • Conduct and coordinate interviews, research and analysis in partnership with the External Affairs team to help deepen our understanding of the challenges and barriers we face with embedding Braven as a course across our HEPs, as well as explore other potential pathways to scale.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Design and create compelling communication materials (emails, decks, briefs, talking points etc) for both base templates and on as-needed basis to support HEP strategy.


New Site Development (50% of time)

  • Contribute thought partnership to our strategy development that puts us on a path to achieve our New Site related goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct research on potential new sites and new regions including analysis of higher education data, geography, employer landscape and philanthropic opportunities.
  • Design and create compelling communication materials (emails, decks, briefs, talking points, student stories, etc) for both base templates and on as-needed basis to support cultivating new sites and planning phase of new partnerships.
  • Support planning and launch of new sites within existing regions and new sites in new regions.
  • Develop and enhance New Site related systems and tools to project manage new site planning.
  • Analyze and summarize key data points, create data visualizations, and craft compelling student stories to convey key concepts to an external higher education audiences.
  • Provide excellent customer service by collaborating closely with regional teams on New Site systems, materials, templates and project management.


Minimum Requirements

  • BA or equivalent degree
  • 1-3 years of data analysis and data visualization experience
  • 1-3 years of full-time work experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to create and follow through on project plans with strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You have a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Excellent data analysis and data visualization skills, including the ability to use that information for internal analysis and strategy decisions and to clearly communicate the concepts to external audiences
  • Strong technological savvy as a user and/or ability to quickly learn including project management platforms; deck design through Canva, PowerPoint, Google slides; Google Suite experience a plus; spreadsheet tools (pivot tables, strong data visualization skills, database hygiene), Salesforce and Periscope
  • Entrepreneurial and excels in a fast-paced, team-oriented, start-up environment
  • Experience with cross-organizational project management and collaboration across diverse teams (i.e. data, product, regional site), and strong customer service orientation
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, data-driven, and curious
  • Your experiences have informed your belief in Braven’s mission and have prepared you to work with, or for, Braven’s student Fellow population

Work Demands

  • Ability to work in-person in Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Newark, NJ or New York City, NY
  • Ability to participate in virtual external meetings about 1-2 times/week on average
  • Ability to travel roughly 1-2 times/quarter for Braven team meetings and external convenings
  • Ability to have occasional meetings outside of regular working hours for your time zone in order to facilitate meeting scheduling.


Additional Requirements

  • Must be fully vaccinated and have received the Booster vaccination against COVID-19 and provide proof of such by the date of hire. Individuals may claim exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons. Exempted individuals will be subject to weekly testing if they engage in any in-person work activities.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.


Application & Interview Process

While the interview process vary slightly, the general process will be:

  • 60-minute Virtual Panel Interview with Key Partners


Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position, which depends on prior work experience and our assessment of your demonstrated fit for the role, will likely be between $49,000 - $61,200 for Atlanta, $51,500 - $64,400 for Chicago, and $55,700 - $69,600 for New York or Newark. Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. You will have an opportunity to discuss salary in more detail after you begin the application process.


Braven also provides competitive, comprehensive benefits, recognition, and career development. While Braven reserves the right to change benefits at any time, current benefits include:

  • A one-month paid sabbatical after 4 years on staff
  • Coverage of 85% of health insurance premium
  • Match of your 401K contribution up to 5% of your base annual salary, starting your first full month
  • Unlimited vacation time in addition to org-wide holidays and week-long shutdowns in July and the end of the calendar year (this is a minimum of 19 days per year)


Location

We gather in the office two to three days a week. Therefore, we require teammates to live within commuting distance of one of our hubs: Atlanta, Chicago, Newark or New York City. Each teammate can use at least two flex days per week of their choosing to work remotely. We believe in the magic, connection, and collaboration that happens when people work together face-to-face and we believe in giving people flexibility to focus, balance personal priorities, and save themselves two commutes per week.
