The Role
The Manager, FP&A is responsible for providing overall Finance support and leadership in direct support of the Network Planning & Access Management team while indirectly supporting the other business units. The Manager will lead a team responsible for analyzing key cost components and the corresponding business drivers of those costs. The role encompasses preparation and interpretation of financial and business results, deep-dive projects into key variance questions, margin evaluation, and forecasting and budgeting, as well as supporting long-range planning initiatives. Additionally, the Manager will partner with all levels of business leadership to assure delivery of business unit targets and achievement of optimization and synergy targets. The Manager will also be responsible for representing the Netex & Margin team at various forums and undertaking specific analysis on behalf of Finance leadership including evaluation of business strategy / effectiveness.
The Main Responsibilities
- Management oversight of 3-5 analysts
- Ensure investment strategies support cost savings
- Support Business unit and product profitability. Business Unit and Product margin views
- Forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning
- Fixed / Shared Expense support of ~$0.7B
- Link revenue forecasts with margin expectations
- Partner with Revenue Assurance and Business Units on margin expansion initiatives
- Incorporate external market factors into planning cycles
- Decision support on initiatives and investments
- Results v budget with variance analysis and explanation. Evaluation of gap closure initiatives with tracking
- Produce KPIs with scorecards for each cost category. Perform analysis on all operating metrics and KPIs
- Develop mid and long-range strategic plans.
- Synergy and integration tracking. Drive process and organizational efficiency initiatives
- Performance analysis and management reporting
- Cost Transformation consolidation across regions and products
- Partner with Carrier Relations on Vendor negotiations and settlements
- Partner with Access Management Organization to manage budget and supporting activities
- Direct Expense support of ~$3B across over 500K services
- Margin reporting including direct and allocated costs
- Deep understanding of Network Expense and Customer/Product profitability
- Assist IR team with margin analysis, synergy tracking and quarterly Q&A Support, and participate in, executive reviews
- Identify and drive profitability and cash flow improvements
What We Look For in a Candidate
Required
- Ability to drive transformational improvements across multiple organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field with 5-8+ years of experience in Finance and Business management roles, preferably FP&A
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and written skills
- Strong execution orientation and ability to inspire action
- Leadership experience in people management, program management and a strong track record of effectiveness in execution, time management, and influencing to deliver objectives.
Preferred
- MBA or Masters in Finance disciplines.
- Accounting qualification a plus.
