Job Description

Relay Graduate School of Education (Relay) is an accredited not-for-profit institution of higher education serving thousands of educators from across the country, from pre-service teachers to system-level leaders. Our mission is to ensure that all students are taught by excellent educators, in order to build a more just world where every student has a clear path to a fulfilling life.

The Professional Education team works with teachers and leaders to continuously improve their craft through virtual workshops, in-person workshops, and fellowship programs. In support of that programming vision, the Events & Operations team strives to deliver exceptional customer service and operational & events management support to both internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Vice President of Professional Education Operations, the manager will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of in-person and virtual events for the Professional Education team in alignment with the team's vision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and Execute Professional Education Event Logistics (75%):

  • Manage the processing and tracking of vendor invoices for quarterly intersessions, facilitating prompt payments and alignment with the team's designated budget
  • Project manage the planning and execution of ad-hoc virtual programming events for various Professional Education programs in alignment with the team's vision
  • Support the execution of Professional Education Events by meeting all deadlines, communicating appropriately to all stakeholders, while providing world-class customer service
  • Manage participant data regularly in Relay's Online learning management system to ensure accuracy of current and historical data
  • Analyze participant feedback from survey results and implement appropriate program adjustments with operational and instructional colleagues, when necessary
  • Manage the creation and distribution of registration surveys for assigned regional and national programs, including the Charlotte Instructional Leadership Professional Development program, to ensure maximum event capacity.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to organize and publish instructional content to the online platform on a quarterly basis
  • Track and manage event budgets in alignment with processes set by the Vice President of Professional Education Operations
  • Track and report on program completion metrics quarterly to support team data analysis
  • Coordinate regular program and intersession-related communications to as many as 800+ participants for a program to achieve a strong participant experience
  • Secure course materials and event related supplies by working with internal stakeholders to align on event needs and external vendors to procure needed supplies

Provide Regional and National Event Support (25%)

  • Providing constituent support, as needed throughout programming
  • Travel to and provide in-person quarterly event support, including but not limited to:
  • Organizing and supporting event registration
  • Completing room set-up for event spaces
  • Other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned in service of successful events and operations
  • Provide in-session, operational support for virtual program sessions, as needed
  • Collaborating with external vendors (e.g., hotel staff, supply vendors, printers, etc.) to ensure appropriate and timely execution of program sessions

QUALIFICATIONS

First and foremost, the Manager, Professional Education Events & Operations must share the Relay community's commitment to working together to improve student growth and achievement through phenomenal teacher preparation grounded in diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. This includes providing teacher preparation programs that set novice teachers up to succeed in the classroom from day one; leadership programs that train new and veteran school and district leaders to best serve their school communities; and teacher-facing professional education that provides ongoing learning to educators. Additionally, for this position we are looking for candidates that possess a combination of the following skills:

  • At least 3 years of work experience
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills
  • BA/BS
  • The ability to work efficiently and intensely within an entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Acute attention to detail and a focus on thoroughness and accuracy
  • Evidence of strong collaboration, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Strong project management skills paired with the ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources and solve complex problems involving multiple stakeholders

COMPENSATION

Relay is committed to creating and maintaining a compensation and benefits system that supports our ability to recruit and retain a diverse and talented team. As we make decisions about compensation, we will be guided by the following values: clarity, consistency, and internal equity. The salary range for this role is $74,250 - $111,375. New hires will be offered a salary at the starting point of the range to allow for an equitable starting salary process and continual salary growth during an employee's time at Relay GSE.

To ensure internal pay equity:

  • Relay does not negotiate salary offers.
  • Relay does not currently differentiate starting salary offers based on years of experience,
  • All staff salaries will be capped at the salary range maximum, and
