As a Senior Global Events Manager, you'll bring the GitLab brand to life through a variety of events. You'll work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to develop, execute, and report on end-to-end events. In this role, you will manage post-program deliverables, including event analysis, reports of budget, attendee feedback as well as oversee and onboard different vendor and partner contractors.

What you'll do in this role

  • Lead on-site execution and management, including staffing and resourcing for a portfolio of events
  • Manage the related budget for assigned events, including sponsorship, event booth execution and experience (when applicable), while balancing ROI and aligning spend to strategic goals
  • Exemplary analytical skills and proven aptitude to use data to optimize program performance and inform future strategies.
  • Elevate the experience for both internal and external participants to differentiate GitLab and engage customers and prospects
  • Develop and deliver event enablement to include pre-event briefings, at-event briefings, and drive post-event follow-up briefings and event retrospectives
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams to create event agendas, campaigns, and content that meet engagement targets.
  • Oversee creation of event communications and promotion for programs, in partnership with demand generation and sales development teams, to drive attendance and engagement from internal teams
  • Deliver reporting analysis on performance and business impact for designated events and activities
  • Planning and production for large scale first, third party and internal sales events, including brief development, project management, designing, sourcing, and delivering the desired event experience
  • Collaborate with sales team to generate ongoing feedback loop to help drive more prospects/customers to events
  • Extends the Senior Corporate Event Manager Responsibilities.
  • Plan and operate a in a transparent manner for cross-organizational visibility and be a leader in sharing best practices with other corporate event managers.
  • Drive assigned work streams associated with team programs where you are not the lead, including staffing, resourcing, and on-site execution.

We're looking for

  • Relevant, progressive experience in corporate events.
  • Exerts significant influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the team.
  • Expertise in budget and project management and superior organizational skills.
  • Expertise in core event logistics and managing complex event programs.
  • Helps shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
  • Confidently ships large scale campaigns and events with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
  • Represents GitLab and its values in public communication around broad initiatives, specific projects, and community contributions. Interact with customers and other external stakeholders as a consultant and spokesperson for the work of your team.
  • Ability to solve complex problems of the highest scope and complexity for your team.
  • Actively seeks out difficult impediments to our efficiency as a team, propose and implement solutions that will enable the entire team to iterate faster.
  • The ability to advocate for improvements to event quality, results, and efficiency that have particular impact across your team and others.
  • The ability to plan for tight deadlines and unexpected complexities.
  • Excellent communicator with proven aptitude to clearly convey ideas and data in written and verbal presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and on multiple project requests simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel and comply with the company’s travel policy.
  • Capacity to easily transition from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution.
  • Provides mentorship for all event managers on the team to help them grow in their tactical responsibilities and remove blockers to their autonomy.
  • Drive innovation on the team with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of immense complexity and scope.
The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
Colorado/Washington pay range
$89,600—$172,800 USD
California/New York/New Jersey pay range
$89,600—$192,000 USD
