Job Description

The Litigation Secretary will be supporting 3 attorneys

  • Arrange meetings and conference calls; may order meals, refreshments, and equipment as requested
  • File legal documents with state and federal courts (electronic and traditional filings)
  • Regularly and accurately proofread all documents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to distribution or filing
  • Accurately enter, review and revise timekeeper time entries including consistent identification of litigation codes, when applicable
  • Maintain attorney calendars through Outlook and CompuLaw
  • Prepare expense reimbursement requests for assigned attorneys in a timely and accurate manner
  • Presents written communications that are concise and accurate
  • Maintains a professional demeanor in high-stress situations
  • Prepare and process new client/matter requests
  • Update and maintain client files, including electronically in document management system
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for assigned attorneys
  • Adapts well to fluctuations in workload and changes in responsibilities
  • Prepare and format briefs, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents
