General Counsel/Chief Legal Officer

Our client, a publicly traded clinical-stage biotechnology company has exclusively retained Solutus Legal Search to assist the executives in their search for a seasoned and sophisticated General Counsel/Chief Legal Officer (GC/CLO). Title will depend on level of directly relevant experience. Reporting to the CEO, this legal executive will serve as a member of the senior leadership team and will manage an existing team of attorneys. Company headquarters are in Silicon Valley. Given the high-profile nature of this role, the GC/CLO will be expected to meet with other execs in-office at least 3x a week.

The ideal candidate is mission driven and possesses a background in the life sciences industry. They will exude business acumen and possess an intellectual curiosity for business strategy and how products and services connect to drive innovation and success. This executive will have experience at the highest levels of the profession as a GC/CLO. Strategic thinking, deep analytical skills and ability to influence across all levels of the organization are a must.

The company is financially secure and is poised for continued growth and innovation as the corporate market continues to experience uncertain times. This attorney will excel in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to provide strong leadership through growth and change. Base compensation range is $430,000 - $450,000 with a target bonus and stock grant.
