Position Summary

  • To be part of Schneider Electric’s North American Legal team to manage key non-legal activities that support legal department’s operations and enable it to provide business aligned, cost-effective, and efficient legal services.
  • Schneider Electric has a meaningful and exciting opportunity based in the US. Ability to work in a hybrid model at one of Schneider Electric Hub offices.
  • Your aim is to digitally transform, centralize, and continually improve, the legal department’s management and access to documents, such as the contracts, templates and standard terms and conditions, etc.
  • Support General Counsels to optimize operations to maximize the law department’s overall performance.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Convey clear parameters, expectations, and timing.
  • Work directly with global legal operations, internal stakeholders, IT support and department leadership to collaborate on IT roadmap planning, implementation, and management, data analysis and incorporation into the department’s services.
  • Support integration of department technology tools with one another and with the organization’s enterprise tools.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategy to deliver legal services more effectively, including through using technology, artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and client self-service portals.
  • Champion change management and communication within the department and with internal stakeholders and others.
  • Advance the law department’s digital and operational strategic priorities and efficiency; and manage critical legal projects and processes to support legal and business objectives.
  • Communicate with the project team and others to ensure specific tasks and deliverables are clearly identified and assigned.
  • Leverage SharePoint, CLM and other tools, for contracting templates; clause libraries, playbooks, and associated training, automate contracting processes/workflows and to assess contractual risk through application of AI/analytics.
  • Identify core and extended project team with the right level and type of experience.
  • Identify strategic solutions for leveraging process improvements and technology.
  • Identify, collect, and analyze data related to workload, efficiency, matter outcomes; hidden risks and developing trends.
  • Anticipate and identify industry developments and advancements; and ensuring continuous improvement in the department’s technological capabilities and identifying potential solutions.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with contract terms and conditions. Experience managing IT projects in complex global environments.
  • At least 5 years’ prior experience in corporate law, operations, project or program management preferably in a global setting.
  • Experience managing people is a plus.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree or Juris Doctor from an accredited law school in the U.S.
  • Schneider Electric is seeking an experience professional, preferably with experience in project management, development, and implementation of digital tools, and legal or business experience working in global corporate environment.

  • Strong relationship management skills - able to function in highly complex global environments often with a high degree of ambiguity and change.
  • Strong commitment to serving as an engaged partner to the legal team on all elements of projects and operational needs.
  • Willingness and ability to accommodate early or late meetings as needed due to the global nature of the projects supported and different location of people involved in such projects
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, integrity mindset, high-energy, can-do attitude, tenacity, team spirit and attitude, proactive and collaborative in multi-cultural environment.
  • Lifelong learner mindset with a hunger to stay current on legal, technology and business trends, intellectually curious, willing to take on new responsibilities and try new challenges.
  • Strong business acumen to understand the business intention and translate to data and process mapping, contract process and associated risks to the contract terms, and actionable guidance for operational teams.


Preferences

  • At least 10 years’ prior experience in corporate law, operations, project or program management preferably in a global setting.
