Job Description

The VP Learning & Development (L&D) is responsible for leading the design and development of high impact learning and development programs for the Company, as well as establishing and leading organization-wide development practices, models, and strategies to help the Company achieve its growth goals. This role reports to the Chief People Officer and is based out of our Chelsea, MA headquarters.


Essential Responsibilities:

• Act as a dynamic leader to cultivate a supporting and engaging team culture as well as provide scalable relevant learning and development approaches that align to our business goals and mission.

• Plans, develops and provides training and staff development programs, using various methods including classroom training, e-learning, seminars and on-the-job training.

• Topics include:

a) Product Knowledge Training

b) Supervisory and Management Programs

c) Leadership Development Programs

d) Train the Trainer Programs

e) Regulatory Training

f) Service Training

g) Sales Training

h) System Training

i) Career Planning and Development Programs


• Analyzes training needs to develop new programs or modify and improve existing programs. Evaluates data and analyzes the effectiveness of training programs presented. Provides refresher and individualized training as appropriate.

• Build learning programs that strategically align with the organization’s objectives and employees’ personal goals and growth.

• Maintain strong relationships with leaders across the company to ensure alignment of their department needs and the L&D roadmap. Ensure all aspects of learning development and delivery are connected, high-impact, and meet the needs of a diverse range of users in a hybrid environment.

• Lead and develop a high performing L&D team to drive the best learning strategy, as well as to build out methodologies and tools. Coach, mentor, and develop L&D employees so they can progress in their own career paths.

• Manage the usage and efficiency of our Learning Management System; generate periodic reports for management.

• Identify and recommend different types of external training or certification offerings for our employees.

• Respond to audit requests as appropriate, providing materials and responses as necessary.

• Performs other duties as required by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Yes, directly manages and develops the Learning & Development team.


Requirements:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field plus a minimum of 8 years training experience including classroom instruction and instructional design; and/or combination of education and experience required.

Skills/Knowledge/Certifications

• In-depth understanding of best practices in learning strategy development and execution.

• Proven experience with curriculum development and delivery methodologies and best practices.

• Demonstrate alignment to our company's values, along with the capability to hire, lead, develop, and motivate a team.

• Excellent communication and senior leader engagement experience.

• Proven ability to use a consultative approach and persuasive communication with stakeholders.

• Ability to prioritize initiatives based on the evolving L&D needs of the company, making consistently strategic recommendations to company leadership.

• Ability to work within a fast-paced, hybrid, evolving work environment.

• Ability to work in and manage ambiguity, including dealing effectively with issues that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• General Office Environment

Hybrid Policy Eligibility:

• Minimum of 2 days each week in the Chelsea headquarters; during onboarding and training; more time in the office may be required.

Our hybrid work arrangements require a minimum of 2 days/week on-site in our Chelsea location, managed within each department. All new hires are required to onboard for a minimum of 30 days on-site in Chelsea.
