Laboratory Technician 2, Burl Thousand Oaks

As a Laboratory Technician 2 of the BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Thousand Oaks, your duties include: • Prepare specimens for analysis • Assists in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays • Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages • Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information • Enter and verify patient and test info into computer • Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas • Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage • Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens • Provide coverage as necessary to other draw stations (e.g. Clarita, Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch, Thousand Oaks, and Century City) Salary Range: $31.82 - $41.96/hour

• A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET) • Must have at least 2 years of recent experience performing phlebotomy in a high-volume testing laboratory (post receiving CPT certificate) • Ability to work at other draw stations as necessary (e.g. Clarita, Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch, Thousand Oaks, and Century City) • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills • Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS) • Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferred
