This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Aquatic Lab Technician for our San Diego Lab. Be involved in projects with our Aquatic Sciences Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

• Support and adherence to Health and Safety requirements
• Data entry, QA/QC, statistical analysis, and report preparation support.
• Participating on occasion with field teams to collect water, sediment, and biological samples
• Test organism culturing and maintenance
• Glassware support
• Recording test data and filling out logbooks
• Participating in regional scientific organizations
• Daily lab and equipment maintenance and cleaning
• Conducting technical aspects of laboratory toxicity testing or other similar projects

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Ability to assist a team of lab staff and aquatic field scientists
• Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
• 0-2 years of experience working within a team in a laboratory setting using lab instruments such as pH, DO meters and others
• Familiarity with data spreadsheets and general data analysis methods for environmental data and care attention to details and directions

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or MS in Aquatic Sciences, Toxicology, Chemistry, Ecology or Marine Biology

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $42,800-$58,850

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
