Junior Accountant Jobs

Summary of Position
The Junior Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
• Think analytically, understanding both the details and the big picture of departmental efforts.
• Assist in month-end closing journal entries and activities.
• Compile financial data to assist in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong organizational and follow-through skills and detail orientation.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, to include pivot tables and vlookups.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding of the general ledger and month-end closing process.
• Understanding and practice of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• One to two years of accounting experience.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
