Janitor / Maintenance Porter Jobs

• This is a floating temporary janitorial position that will require the candidate to travel to various locations as needed.
• The candidate will be covering for workers that call out sick, out on vacation, and any other operational needs for coverage.
• Must be able to work and cover all shifts in any of the boroughs throughout NYC.
• All candidates could have various schedules that include working at multiple locations.

Responsibilities:

• Clean bathrooms – Mirrors, Sinks, Urinals, Toilet Bowls, Showers, Walls, etc...
• Other assignments as needed
• Move furniture
• Pick up and remove garbage
• Sweep & Mop corridors, rooms, and staircase
• Clean walls and window sills
• Ensure all equipment is clean and stocked at the end of the day
• Assist with deliveries
• Strip, wax & buff corridors and rooms

Shifts:

• 8 am – 4 pm, 4 pm – 12 am, 6 pm – 2 am, or 12 am – 8 am
• 4-5 days a week, some assignments involve the weekend

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to work any shift of the day
• Able to follow directions
• Must be able to work any day of the week
• Able to work under direct and indirect supervision
• Good communication skills
• Have great people skills
• Able to work well with others
• Able to repeatedly lift and move 50 – 75 pounds
• Continuous monitoring of areas and cleaning.
• Must be able and willing to travel to all boroughs
• Familiar with all aspects of cleaning
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Familiar with cleaning equipment
