Hourly Salary: $19.18* *Hourly rate subject to increase based on settlement of CBA

Hours: 6:00AM – 2:00PM

:

• Performs or arranges for the distribution of deliveries.
• Systematically observes building and grounds for abnormal conditions and reports to Head Custodian.
• Performs minor repairs, painting and maintenance tasks under the direction of the Head Custodian.
• May be expected to drive BOCES owned vehicle.
• Secures building.
• Directly supervises laborers and cleaners assigned to the Center.
• Performs assigned cleaning tasks in and around building.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Head Custodian.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Civil Service Qualifications:

Must Meet Minimum Qualifications For Provisional Appointment As Follows

• Five (5) years of experience in commercial cleaning practices or general building maintenance, including experience in any one (1) of the following trades; Carpentry, Electrical, H.V. and A.C. Systems, Plumbing; OR,
• Graduation from High School or Vocational School or possession of a High School Equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in commercial cleaning practice or general building maintenance including experience in any one (1) of the following trades; Carpentry, Electrical, H.V. and A.C. Systems, Plumbing; OR,
• An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).

Additional Qualifications:

• Must have working knowledge of cleaning equipment, procedures and chemicals
• The ideal successful candidate would have applied to take the Erie County Civil Service Custodian Exam given April 22, 2023
• Some supervisory experience preferred
