Join The Doe Fund on our mission to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism by providing holistic services, housing, and work opportunities to the under-served populations including the formerly homeless and incarcerated, disconnected youth, veterans, and people living with AIDS. Our flagship transitional work program- Ready, Willing & Able- integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate an individual’s return to mainstream society.

We are seeking a House Manager to join our growing team. This position is responsible for the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the facility and trainee rooms. This position will be working out of the Porter Avenue location in Williamsburg Brooklyn, NY.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and document required maintenance and preventive maintenance needs for facility and trainee rooms.
  • Report any infractions or behavioral problems to Program Directors and enter Incident Reports into the CARES database.
  • Will provide program orientation for new trainees, and assignment of rooms, and supplies.
  • Inspect trainee rooms daily.
  • Supervise and train in-house facility cleaning and laundry crews in proper work performance and behavior.
  • Assign in-house job functions in conjunction with Support Services Supervisor.
  • Coordinate and oversee rubbish and snow removal.
  • Make requests to Support Services Supervisor for supplies and equipment necessary to maintain and clean the facility, bathroom, grounds, and trainee rooms.
  • Facility inspection and cleanliness of the facility and outside areas.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs; physically manage stored client belongings, including disposal.
  • Certifications in CPF/Frist Aid, F80/Fire Safety & Alarm Systems (Homeless Shelter), and Naloxone preferred. Candidates who do not possess the aforementioned certifications must make themselves available for training during the 90 Day probationary period.
  • Experience working in human services, preferably with Chemically Dependent, Formerly Incarcerated, and/or Homeless populations preferred.
  • Computer Literate. Must be comfortable navigating databases and proficient in Microsoft Office-based programs: i.e., Word, Excel, and sending/receiving emails.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
