Job Description
Overview:

Responsible for all shall assist in monitoring all the Information Technology (IT) processes and application systems utilizing the Help Desk software and is assigned to document any outages/problems and ensure the proper handling of identified computer problems.

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.


Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Ensure that sufficient supplies and materials are kept on hand for future operations. Order or notify the appropriate staff to re-order, when necessary.
  • Accurately document instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal following current policies and procedures.
  • Listen to, log and respond to telephone calls and e-mails from Resort computer users encountering problems, outages or concerns.
  • Monitor the computer server systems for program error messages or system failures. Investigate or evaluate the codes, errors or issues identified and found.
  • Effectively review and research system problems, diagnose probable causes and institute resolution to identified issues. Attempt to correct the problem or provide instructional services via the telephone,
  • Operate and understand the basic operations of the tape backup devices and programs that generate tape backups/restoration as required. Perform backup operations or change tapes/ devices as requested.
  • Adhere to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
  • If unable to correct the cause of a processing error or failure, provide proper notification to the appropriate IT staff member responsible for addressing this particular problem and its resolution.

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required. Experience with server administration and server operating systems is preferred.


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a working knowledge of PC operating systems including Microsoft Office, computer hardware and peripheral equipment (printers, monitors and keyboards etc.).


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and public groups.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job


Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: able to stand or walk for long periods of time. Safely lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds on occasions as well frequently walk, sit, and perform functions with each hand and arm. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift. Excessive use of computers and possible eye strain is possible throughout the assigned shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.


Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
