MII has a lean staff supplemented with key consultants / contractors, who are recognized as media industry experts and serve as trainers, coaches, strategists, technologists and researchers.

Job Overview

TheInternational Directorprovides overall program management for the ministry, overseeing all international operations. A member of the MII leadership team, the International Director will have management responsibilities for indigenous National Directors and key ministry specialists, many of whom are located within the 10/40 Window. The right candidate must be, or become, knowledgeable in all areas of MII.

The International Director will have significant responsibilities related to major MII projects, including the high-level role of ensuring that the teams executing these initiatives will do so with excellence and timeliness in meeting ministry goals, approving national program budgets, and overseeing senior team leaders.

The ideal candidate for this position will be self-driven and highly skilled in organizational, personnel and project management, with experience in cross-cultural settings around the world. The International Director must have an “ownership” mentality and the ability to lead by serving well.

Key Responsibilities

• Participates in financial development aspects as appropriate with the MII President / CEO (approximately 20-25% of the International Director’s time will be focused on fund-raising).
• Participates in the strategic planning process for the organization.
• Ensures that International Offices are staying on target in fulfilling donor commitments.
• Develops, implements and monitors reporting processes that are aligned with targeted outcomes.
• Clearly and regularly communicates the status of international operations to the MII President.
• Assesses MII international programs for mission effectiveness.
• Available to travel into the field, including internationally, for program execution and to represent MII at conferences, meetings, donor presentations, etc.
• Oversees all international ministry functions of the organization.

• Keep confidential the activities and strategies of MII, its employees, contractors and clients.
• Demonstrate maturity consistent with Christian principles.
• Represent MII in a positive manner.
• Proactively maintain a positive attitude.
• Honor MII’s published Vision, Mission and Core Values statements.
• Keep abreast of the latest digital marketing strategies, platforms, tools and technologies.

Essential Skills / Experience / Education / Abilities

• Understanding the Christian ministry landscape in the 10/40 Window an advantage.
• Ability to work with ministry partners and clients internationally and be able to achieve strong results with those from different cultures.
• Excellent command of the English language – both spoken and written.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or a similar discipline.
• Demonstrated strong business acumen, leadership, operations expertise and experience.
• General understanding of Digital Media, as well as of “Digital Marketing Strategies and Best Practices.”
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally without restriction.
