This role is key to our success and involves building relationships with potential job candidates, recruiting for open roles, and creating a positive and engaging recruitment and hiring experience for prospective and new hires.

What We're Looking For
The person who is ready for this opportunity will be an experienced and proactive professional with 5 or more years' experience in talent acquisition, who is passionate about sourcing top talent and delivering an exceptional experience for everyone involved. They will possess the following characteristics:

  • Knowledge of HR tools and and applicant tracking systems for employee recruitment and hiring

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills to a variety of audiences
Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills; able to communicate proficiently in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and other recruitment software (e.g., Paylocity, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills including tact, discretion, diplomacy, listening, and problem solving.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in recruitment and talent acquisition.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to creatively source, recruit, and onboard qualified candidates.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and best practices in effective talent acquisition and building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work culture.

This a full-time salaried position. Salary range is $55,000 - $65,000.
Work Location
While the HR Specialist's work can be done partly from home, the person in this role is expected to work at our main office, located at 307 Cumberland Avenue, Portland, Maine, and from other Avesta locations in greater Portland at least 2 days per week and as needed.
