Job Description
Position Description: Opportunity:
This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled human resources generalist to work in an organization that aligns its human resources practices with its equity focused values. The Human Resources Manager will be a key member of HRIAs growing Human Resources team and support the overall operations of the Human Resources department. The preferred candidate is a Human Resources Generalist with a demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources best practices. This individual will manage and support multiple areas in the Human Resources function with a focus on the organizations leave of absence, talent management, and compliance needs including the organizations Affirmative Action Plan. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep knowledge and understanding of how to implement and manage human resources systems.
This is an exempt, full-time position with the opportunity to work remotely or from our downtown Boston office. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $79,000 and is based on skills and experience. HRIA requires that staff be up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations and must show proof of vaccination upon hire.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute HR experience and knowledge to the development, implementation, and evaluation of all human resources projects as assigned.
Manage the organizations leave of absence administration process and ensure compliance in collaboration with the organizations external leave of absence management consultants.
Conduct new hire orientations in partnership with Senior Human Resources Manager.
Maintain online performance management system, coordinate 6-month and annual review processes, and provide training and technical support to organization staff.
Track new hire, promotion, and separation data for the organizations Affirmative Action Plan and related initiatives.
Provide coaching and support to supervisors and staff related to staff performance and discipline.
Handle employment-related inquiries, including pay, benefits, and employee relations matters, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR staff.
Act as back up for human resources information system updates and vendor inquiries.
Act as Human Resources liaison for organization staff committee(s) as assigned and/or relevant.
Collaborate with HR and staff teams to continuously assess and improve new hire orientation, employee recognition programs, and staff professional development.
Apply knowledge and experience of compliance with federal, state, and local employment and leave of absence laws and regulations, and best practices.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, learning management, talent management, and employment law.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications:
Expertise
Three to five years plus of Human Resources experience.
Bachelors degree.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to equity and inclusion in Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Demonstrated knowledge, ownership, and maintenance of Affirmative Action Plans and the implementation of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion initiatives
Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
Effective and consistent communicator - both oral and written.
Advanced skills with the Microsoft Offices Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, and Zoom).
Strong project management skills with excellent attention for detail and accuracy.
Experience with HRIS systems management. Personal Characteristics
