As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be a key point of contact for our staff, providing guidance and support across all areas of human resources. From recruitment and employee engagement to training, benefits, and HRIS, you will play a vital role in ensuring our employees' success and satisfaction. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will contribute to the overall success of our team.
Responsibilities
Lead all recruitment efforts, managing the entire recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, sourcing, resume screening, conducting interviews, extending offers, running background checks, and overseeing the onboarding process.
Foster strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, vendors, and search firms to ensure effective collaboration and successful hiring outcomes.
Respond to inquiries regarding organizational policies, procedures, and benefits, providing timely and accurate information to employees.
Assist in resolving employee relation matters, including disciplinary actions and conflict resolution, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Serve as the point of contact for employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Document standard operating processes and create relevant workflows to streamline HR operations.
Support Benefits Administration and HR transactional activities, actively contributing to the development of internal business processes.
Maintain confidential employment data, health records, and electronic data using HRIS databases.
Analyze data and document business process rules, transforming information into actionable insights to drive improvements.
Collaborate closely with payroll to ensure accurate processing of employee information.
Support the development and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
Provide assistance in processing tuition reimbursements, completing employee verifications, and handling other HR inquiries.
Manage and coordinate employee programming, including onboarding programs, internship programs, learning management system (LMS) facilitation, and additional training programs.
Oversee the onboarding and exiting process for employees, ensuring a smooth transition and providing support during involuntary terminations.
Generate and analyze reports to derive departmental recommendations.
Stay up-to-date with federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to regulations.
Conduct research and recommend best practices in human resources, talent management, employment law, and new HR technologies.
Coordinate and assist in organizing organization-sponsored functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws in a distributed workforce.
Broad understanding of the human resources field.
Previous experience in full-cycle recruiting in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong desire to work collaboratively in a results-driven team environment.
Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to relate to and engage employees at all levels.
Comfortable working in a cross-matrixed, consultative, and collaborative environment.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
Adaptability and flexibility to manage workload and shifting priorities effectively.
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum Of Two Years Of Full-cycle Recruitment Experience.
HR Generalist experience is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with HRIS databases (experience with Workday preferred).
Two or more years of executive-level recruitment experience.
Two years of experience managing full lifecycle employee support initiatives.
Previous employment in a cross-matrixed, fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
This position is considered remote, distributed; however, occasional onsite support at our Chicago office or up to 20% travel may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive base compensation range of $60,000 to $70,000. Additional factors may influence total compensation.
