Ensures the integrity of the HRIS Workday information systems by maintaining systems configuration, documenting procedures, conducting system audits, and troubleshooting issues. Responsible for creating and modifying custom reports and assisting HR staff with reports. Serves as lead representative and liaison between HR, Information Services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for the implementation of HR projects. Assists the Leadership with HRIS strategy, roadmap, development, collaborative initiatives, and general oversight of organization objectives.


Essential Functions


  • Conducts and coordinates audits on HR information systems. Ensures that corrections are made and recommends process and policy changes. Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel on team.
  • Uses report-writing skills to create or modify custom reports using HR data and assists other HR staff with the use of reports.
  • Assists with system upgrades, updates, and fixes. Involves reviewing release notes and conducting extensive system testing.
  • Uses a high degree of concentration to maintain HR information systems configuration according to established guidelines. Establishes and converts data related to organizational restructures, salary survey changes, code tables, benefit/attendance plans, position codes, etc. Performs essential job functions in a variety of environments under normal lighting and climate control tolerances.
  • Partners with and serves as the HR Liaison to ITS; to ensure HR systems compliance with enterprise policies related to information security; for the implementation and management of interfaces with other systems; to coordinate HR use of ITS resources, ensuring that ITS procedures and methods are followed when possible.
  • Monitors systems and processes, including interfaces with other systems, to ensure functionality. Leads and coordinates activities and requirements with software vendors to assist in resolving systems issues.
  • Documents system-related processes and procedures, documentation and functional specifications related to production requirements and business continuity/disaster recovery. Updates procedures as needed, ensuring that they are always accurate and up-to-date. Recommends procedural changes as needed.
  • Serves as a contact for the organization on HR system inquires and requests for assistance. Assess organizational needs and provides diagnosis and recommendations for improvements and /or interventions and manages the implementation of solutions where required.
  • Analyzes processes and HR data to identify problems and proposed solutions and ensure data integrity; provides leadership and /or specific expertise and project oversight to ensure timely completion and effective resolution of identified issues. Involves troubleshooting, testing, and coordinating with ITS staff.


Minimum Experience


  • Experience with a HRIS
  • Understanding of Human Resources functions, including Payroll; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access and Visio
  • Report writing experience using Workday Reports or equivalent; knowledge of SQL and use of Microsoft SQL Server tools
  • Experience with Workday HR products is preferred
  • Applicant management system and learning management system experience is a plus
  • Knowledge ordinarily acquired through attainment of a Bachelor's degree in Human Relations, Information Technology, a related field and 8 years of HR or IT experience working with HRIS
