HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALISTS


Job Summary: An HR Specialist will have outstanding administrative and communication skills. An HR Specialist is expected to be a conceptual thinker with superb organizational and time management skills. You must be reliable and should accurately follow instructions with the ability to multitask and acclimatize to a fast-paced environment.


To ensure success, HR specialists should display remarkable conflict management and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships, staffing management, and payroll and benefits administration. Top candidates will be superb at problem-solving, efficient in scheduling, and precise in the recruitment process.


Pay Rate: SCA Hourly wage of $14.20 base per hour + $4.22 per hour Health & Welfare Benefit

HR Related Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Assist with performance management procedures.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.
  • Complete exit interviews.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and issuing employment contracts.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
  • Support all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.


Clearance Background Check Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Track progress and enter data into the spreadsheets as needed.
  • Scheduling of Fingerprints for new applicants.
  • Responsible for processing searches and reports related to background screening applications.
  • Meet with applicant to make corrections to the eQIP if it comes back from the parent agency.
  • Ensure applicants complete and send over completion of the Mohela Cyber security training.
  • Searches and retrieval of information from responses, court records, and other documents.
  • Accountable for working within guidelines to provide minimal turnaround and high-quality results on background requests.
  • Upload and track documentation into dropbox
  • Schedule Teams meeting with applicants to assist with completion of eQIP background clearance application.
  • Review data input to the application prior to submission to the parent agency.
  • Reach out to applicants and ensure they have received everything needed to begin their eQIP process.
  • Ensure all searches are done correctly and all hits are entered / reported based to federal and state laws.


Office Duties (As needed)


  • Receive identification/documents, upload into dropbox
  • Initiate hiring process
  • Input applicant information into dropbox
  • Scan and upload all onboarding documentation.
  • Equipment swap outs, returning of equipment, management of onsite inventory.
  • Call/email for interviews/conduct interview.
  • Evaluate applications.
  • Readying laptops for new hires (Download RSA token, log into global protect, ensure employee’s computer is ready)
  • Complete fingerprinting with applicants, mail out cards.


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:


  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • One year or greater experience in the field of HR is preferred.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.


Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
