Job Description
The HR and Recruiting Assistant for our company is responsible to collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and efficient recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process. The HR and Recruiting Assistant also provides ongoing assistance to managers and employees during an employee’s lifecycle, answering general HR questions, maintaining files/data, and serving as a liaison between HR, hiring managers, and payroll.
Essential Functions (approximate Time Spent)
  • Disseminate applicant and employee information between hiring managers, payroll, and HR. (10%)
  • Provide front desk backup coverage (e.g., answering phones, controlling building access). (5%)
  • Manage internal and external job postings. (15%)
  • Manage the employee compliance lifecycle for accuracy and completeness, ensuring data integrity by accurately entering and maintaining applicant and employee data and files (e.g., offer letter, background check, new hire paperwork, reviews). (20%)
  • Assist hiring managers with finding creative, meaningful, effective recruiting and interviewing materials and practices. (15%)
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, providing guidance and support. (20%)
  • Complete employment verifications and assist with gathering audit data. (5%)
  • Conduct new hire orientation for Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) employees. (5%)
  • Maintain up-to-date employee information lists (e.g., birthday, inclement weather, anniversary). (5%)
Competencies
  • High level of honor in dealing with confidential information.
  • Proficient with HRIS (human resources information systems), PC, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment.
  • Works with integrity, valuing honesty, and diligence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able communicate clearly in English, and work in person or on the phone.
  • Mostly sedentary work, sitting for long periods of time and working on a computer with some periods of bending, lifting, reaching, and crouching.
  • Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 30 pounds.
