Job Description

Dialectic is currently seeking a talented Human Resources Generalist due to our high growth and success in the MEP market. The HR Generalist is responsible for assisting with university relations, recruitment, employee relations, researching and responding to employee questions related to benefits, policies and procedures.

Reports to: Chief People Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Responsible for conducting exit interviews, analyzing turnover trends, and working with leadership to develop strategies to increase engagement and retention
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development; continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Implements, administers, educates, and delivers HR programs and training, policies and/or practices that support business objectives
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of our University Internship Programs and New Graduate Hiring including traveling to local and regional universities, collaborating with hiring managers and department leads to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Conducts basic employee relations investigations, including developing solutions that result in a fair and timely resolution
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Develops positive working relationships with employees in all offices, including remote employees
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations by understanding and staying current with state and national laws, including labor law posters and new required training
  • As part of the overall talent management effort, partner with office leadership teams to identify employee development and training needs, creating, and implementing a plan to address those needs
  • Responsible for developing a robust onboarding program including standardization, automation, and implementation of best practices to allow for growth including remote employees
  • Objectively analyzes current practices, identify improvement opportunities, build consensus, and assists with the implementation of related changes

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience with sourcing and data mining techniques
  • 3+ years of successful work experience as a generalist and recruiter in a technical industry (information technology, engineering, architecture, healthcare)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AEC or MEP industry experience a plus
  • Experience working in a professional services industry highly desired
  • OFCCP compliance knowledge highly desired
  • Prior HRIS reporting or dashboard knowledge preferred

  • Is proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Has excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

  • Maintains accurate employee records and track all necessary paperwork
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee information and sensitive company matters
  • Acts with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Displays sound judgement and business acumen
  • Has excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Prioritizes tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Displays thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
