Job Description
Wisper Internet is expanding. With offices located in Illinois and Missouri, we are a leading wireless high-speed internet provider in the Midwest. We provide reliable service, focusing on rural and outlying communities.


Salary: $47,000-$52,000 based on experience


Hours: 40-50 hours per week, flexible start time with consistent schedule


Overnight travel: up to 10%


This position is hybrid eligible with 3 days in office required and 2 days optional from home if candidate meets eligibility requirements for remote work.


Wisper Internet is seeking a full-time exempt Generalist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, your primary responsibilities will include the daily administrative support in areas such as compliance, audits, reporting, creating and enforcing policies, documentation, and general clerical functions. Essential Job Functions


  • Track, prepare, and complete all compliance documentation including disability, worker's compensation, Incident reporting, FMLA, ADA, and internal training.
  • 10% travel
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance across all business units.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Conducts audits and required reporting
  • Reports directly to VP of Human Resources
  • Assists with payroll and tax compliance.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Daily administration and execution of HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.


Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current Driver's License
  • Safety & Incident Reporting
  • Experience with HRIS software, preferably Paylocity
  • At least 2 years of experience in a HR role (generalist, specialist, recruiting) required
  • Family Medical Leave Act
  • At least 1 year demonstrated experience in HR administration relating to:
  • Worker's Compensation
  • Legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future
  • Moderate knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment / human resources
