About The Division
We facilitate education, skills development, and community engagement to help learners transform their lives. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and are enrolled in English or Adult Basic Education classes or training.
About The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals for the roles of Part-time Teachers. You will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our adult learners.
Responsibilities
As an Adult Education Reading Teacher:
Delight in dynamically teaching Reading classes to adult learners, adapting to in-person, hybrid, or online formats as needed.
Provide structured and supportive instruction, fostering growth and progress towards educational and personal goals.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop materials, lessons, and share effective strategies.
Invest in ongoing professional development to enhance our educational services..
Minimum Requirements
Experience in teaching reading and/or writing.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with reading instruction methods and materials.
Sensitivity to the unique needs of adult learners.
Dedication to advancing racial equity and addressing systemic racism.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience teaching adults in community-based settings.
Familiarity with College and Career Readiness Standards.
Passion for collaborative problem-solving and continuous learning.
Working Conditions
Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities.
The role involves both on-site and some remote work.
General office and classroom environment with necessary accommodations.
Comfortable with computer use for accessing and inputting information.
Adaptability to a standard office environment with moderate noise levels.
