Job Description

Marathon Asset Management is a global credit manager with approximately $20 billion in assets under management. Our platform is well-established with a 20+ year track record of strong returns through investments in the global credit and real estate related markets. Marathon’s team is fully integrated to capitalize on credit opportunities globally in both the public and private credit markets, with its headquarters in New York and offices in London, Tokyo, Luxembourg, Miami and Los Angeles.

 

This position plays a key role in a variety of responsibilities across the HR function, including the administration of payroll and benefits, managing new hire onboarding, and ensuring effective delivery of our HR services.  

The candidate should be able to fulfill the requirement of being in our NYC office four days a week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and maintain annual HR Compliance functions.
  • Manage the payroll process and serve as main point of contact for all payroll questions. Knowledge of payroll, benefits and employer tax is a plus.
    • Manage administration of benefits. Liaise with providers and employees, coordinate and administer the open enrollment process, and participate in benefits renewal planning.
  • Support certain administrative functions, such as HR invoices and employee records.
  • Perform other HR or administrative assignments as needed.
  • Participate in projects and lead initiatives in a range of HR areas, including HR Analytics and process improvements.
  • Manage administration of benefits. Liaise with providers and employees, coordinate and administer the open enrollment process, and participate in benefits renewal planning.
  • Accurately maintain information in the HR platforms.
  • Provide recruiting support.
  • Manage the onboarding and background check processes.

 

  • Ability to work in fast-paced professional services environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in HR, preferably at a financial services firm.
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong team player with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws a plus
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

The average salary for this role is $75,000-85,000 in base pay and is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits.  The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data.  We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case by case basis.
