The Platinum Hotel is seeking a Housekeeping Manager to join our team. This position supports the Director of Housekeeping in the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department and the smooth operation of our 255-unit full service condo hotel. We’re the perfect team to join if you’re looking for a non-union, non-smoking & non-gaming work environment. The Housekeeping Manager supports management by supervising the work activities of Room Attendants and House Attendants to ensure clean, orderly, safe, and attractive guestrooms, public and back-of-house areas. Qualified candidates will have knowledge of current safety and OSHA standards, demonstrated knowledge of cleaning, products and equipment, and have prior supervisory experience. Bi-lingual English/Spanish oral and written communication skills and Microsoft Office proficiency are required.
What you will be doing:
- Provides supervision of assigned Housekeeping associates to ensure job duties are completed.
- Promotes excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guest and associate requests.
- Inspects guest rooms, public and back-of-house areas as assigned and ensures compliance with standards.
- Performs manual duties of subordinates as necessary to cover temporary staff shortages.
- Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Manager.
- Responds to guest questions and provides guest assistance, direction, and information.
- Attends all required Housekeeping Department and other meetings.
- Inspects and grades work performance of associates to ensure standards are being met.
- Partly responsible for inventory control of Housekeeping supplies, linen, and equipment.
- Participates in the promotion of safety and security in assigned areas.
- Trains associates regarding job duties and quality standards.
- Ensures that all designated guestrooms receive service.
- Represents the department and hotel with professionalism and decorum.
- Ensures furniture, facilities, and equipment are maintained and in good repair.
- Make recommendations to supervisor regarding improved methods and procedures so as to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.
What we are looking for:
- Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Supervisory skills, with the ability to successfully develop and retain a quality staff and maintain harmonious associate relations.
- High School diploma required.
- Previous housekeeping management experience, with thorough knowledge of all housekeeping procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, Bi-Lingual in Spanish required.
- Good interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills.
- Complete knowledge on operations of all cleaning equipment and material, including vacuum cleaners, push carts and normal cleaning chemicals.
