POSITION OVERVIEW


The Executive Housekeeping Manager will assist with managing the daily operations of the Housekeeping department. This role is responsible for creating a luxury hotel experience for all guests by ensuring departmental objectives related to guest satisfaction and guestroom quality are met on a consistent basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Ensure the availability of materials and equipment
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the property and hotel services, and creates positive guest and Member interactions through prompt, accurate, and professional communication
  • Address disciplinary and performance issues in an objective and professional manner, partnering with our People team (Human Resources) as appropriate
  • Assist the Executive Director and Assistant Director with interviewing, hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, and managing Housekeeping Members to achieve departmental objectives
  • Evaluate the performance of direct reports as it relates to coaching and development as well as labor and productivity standards
  • Work in conjunction with the Director and Assistant Director to promote a culture of continuous improvement by researching and evaluating potential changes to training, equipment, and standard operating procedures on a regular basis
  • Perform room and Member inspections to ensure consistent luxury quality standards are being met and maintained
  • Effectively communicate the flow of information and directives throughout the department and property
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
  • Provide exceptional service to guests and Members that differentiates us from the competition.
  • Establish workloads, assign various tasks, and review and analyze results/performance

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Experience with opening 3,000-plus room property is preferred
  • Able to lead and mentor a team
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high-quality service levels.
  • Knowledge of Forbes Travel Guide training is preferred
  • Experience in creating and maintaining training materials for Housekeeping and related areas of a luxury resort
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
  • Strong understanding of hospitality management programs and systems
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of aspects of hotel operations and housekeeping division function
  • Ability to present oneself in a confident, polished, and professional manner
  • Union experience is required
  • Highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly, and communicate clearly
  • Able to multitask and handle stressful situations in a calm professional manner and exhibit good judgment
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive Housekeeping management experience in a large, luxury casino/resort
  • Ability to actively influence and drive collaboration with individuals or groups at various levels within and outside of the organization
  • Knowledge of pertinent labor laws and regulations related to OSHA is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, HotSOS, Rex, and other software used for Housekeeping
  • Experience managing schedules, labor standards, and service recoveries are required
  • Bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency is a plus
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
  • Excellent organizational skills; be able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively achieve business unit goals and objectives by implementing strategic and operational plans, budgets, and best practices; and monitoring and evaluating results

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises all salaried and hourly waged roles in the Housekeeping Operation; including but not limited to; Managers, Supervisors, Quality Control/Inspectors, Guest Room Attendants, Housepersons, Runners, Dispatch, Administrative Clerks, Utility Porters, and Utility Porter Specialists.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
