Housekeeping Coordinator
Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale is looking for a Housekeeping Coordinator that strives for excellence and is a highly motivated team player.
Under the supervision of the Director of Housekeeping, Assistant Director of Housekeeping, and Assistant Housekeeping Managers, the Housekeeping Coordinator is responsible for answering all Housekeeping telephone calls and facilitating the operating efficiency of the department. As a point of contact with the guest, the Coordinator plays a vital role in terms of guest perception. The Coordinator directs a section of the Housekeeping staff to assure that guest rooms and public areas are cleaned to exacting standards as well as ensuring Four Seasons standards are being achieved in the housekeeping area.
The Housekeeping Coordinator ensures that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, assisting guests with any requests in a timely and professional manner and responding to all interactions in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and comfort all whilst complying with all Four Seasons’ policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily opening and closing cleaning procedures.
- Monitors the performance of House Attendants. Assures that there are sufficient supplies on the guest floors. Checks cleanliness of guest corridors, stairwells, elevators and Linen Closets.
- Follow up to ensure all guest service times are honored.
- Completing weekly office supplies inventory and ordering.
- Complete appropriate glitch reports and immediately alert supervisor for immediate follow up—keep managers informed for follow up.
- Creating weekly guest supply requisitions.
- Conducts self in a professional manner at all times. Adheres to the established standards of conduct and house rules, fire regulations, and department procedures and policies.
- Create Turndown team assignments.
- Managing all arrival rooms to minimize guest’s wait time “Queue Rooms”
- Reports to shift on time. Is aware of schedule at all times and if unable to attend work, notifies the supervisor in adequate time.
- Excellent at creating and updating Microsoft Word & Excel spreadsheets and will receive proper training on the internal operational systems (Opera, Lotus Notes, HotSos).
- Resolve traces once completed.
- Assist with stripping, cleaning and inspecting rooms as needed based on operational needs.
- Ensure all arrival rooms are inspected by 4pm check in time.
- Responsible for inspecting guest rooms and upkeep of a specific area of the hotel. Trains and coaches the staff as needed based on the operational needs.
- Dresses in issued uniforms and ensures a neat, clean and tidy appearance at all times.
- Ensure office remains clean, organized while providing or promoting an inviting atmosphere.
- Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in the areas of House Attendant, Lobby Attendants, Guestroom Attendant and Turndown Attendant.
- Uphold maintenance and safety standards
- Communicate customer requests or preferences to management
- Update daily reports.
- Responsible for answering all housekeeping incoming telephone calls while ensuring maximum operating efficiency of the department by directing all requests properly.
- Receive, log and dispatch all housekeeping calls to the appropriate staff member via Hotsos with follow up.
- Schedules work to be done daily, collects room and floor status sheets for assigned work areas. Monitors each Room Attendant’s daily progress. Inspects completed rooms to assure that all standards have been met. When standards have been missed, brings employee back to room to correct the deficiency. Coordinates work orders in assigned section. Follows up to be sure work is completed. Releases checkout rooms to be sold.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- At least 1 year experience within the same or similar position with hospitality; previous housekeeping or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word & Excel
