We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Quality & Outcomes Project Coordinator reporting into our Corporate Headquarters. Do you have experience in a hospital/healthcare environment including project management, data analytics or quality improvement, and would you like to use those skills to further Shriners' mission of providing quality care to our patients and their families? Then this position may be for you!

The Healthcare Quality & Outcomes Project Coordinator will support the Quality Outcomes Manager at the Shriners Children’s (SHC) in coordinating and initiating clinical, business, and process related outcomes projects. The Coordinator will manage highly complex projects supporting strategic-level initiatives on patient-reported outcomes, quality and safety programs, outcomes registries and workflow improvements. The person in this role is responsible for leading teams using standard project and problem solving methodology and using tools and processes from multiple sources to make data driven decisions.

The Healthcare Quality and Outcomes Project Coordinator will work extensively with the SHC facilities and teams as projects are initiated. The Coordinator is a member of Medical Affairs Quality team, with system-wide responsibilities and oversight for local Shriners hospital’s outcome performance monitoring.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the role include:
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement system-wide change management practices;
  • Provide project management leadership and support during planning and implementation of outcomes related projects;
  • Develop, maintain and analyze various reports and key performance metrics to provide advanced data storytelling to communicate insights and opportunities for quality improvement;
  • Partner with system and site leadership to identify, review, make recommendations, and achieve buy-in for effective implementation of initiatives.
  • Interact with IS and other stakeholders on technical integration in the electronic medical record;
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have five (5) years of previous experience in a hospital/healthcare/surgical environment. Familiarity with project/program management, process re-engineering, Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement approaches, is helpful, as well as demonstrated experience with quality management programs including data collection. Computer skills including the creation of graphs, tables and trend reports. Strong problem analysis and resolution techniques are important to this role, as would be solid understanding of organizational change management and experience with project management and facilitating workshops and focus groups. A Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Key skills for this position include strong PC applications skills including Microsoft Office suite; the ability to create, manage and maintain valid and reliable database systems; experience with access to, and use of, data from internal and external transaction systems; and an innovative, self-motivated and detail-oriented approach to work with strong time management and organizational skills. Experience in Epic and Cerner electronic medical records is preferred.
