Job Summary (Primary function)
The Assoc. Dir., Health Outcomes Liaison (HOL) is responsible for the facilitation and development of relationships with and communication of product-related information to, members of the healthcare insurers, payers, pharmacy benefit managers (PDM), institutions, cooperative groups, consortia, managed care organizations, and P&T committees. The HOL will serve as a content expert on Incyte products and disease areas, providing information on clinical data and experience, real-world evidence (RWE), health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) for approved Incyte agents and compounds in the development pipeline. The position establishes and maintains key partnerships and collaborations, and support of relationships with external experts, both directly, and in conjunction with, the Medical Science Liaison teams.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
- Partner with Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) function to align and train on payer resources such as AMCP dossier, economic models and analyses, and value evidence
- Develop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives
- Expertly deliver scientific, medical, and RWE/HEOR information and interpretation of clinical research findings
- Provide expertise to the Commercial organization, including review of promotional materials, sales training, and speaker training for promotional programs
- Provide support for planning and execution of the Medical Affairs program strategy for ruxolitinib cream and IAI portfolio
- Primarily conducts in-person engagements with the healthcare community within the territory, with occasional virtual interaction when requested or required
- Engage in discussions of value attributes of Incyte IAI products
- Support payer and market access strategies and tactics
- Develop and maintain a RWE/HEOR KEE network to engage in value-based approached to Incyte IAI portfolio
- Partner with MSL team to align identify, build, and engage with regionally based HCP key external experts (KEE) in dermatology, allergy and immunology, and autoimmune disorders
- Interface with external experts and US health care insurers and payer professionals at major conferences, advisory boards, and other external meetings
- Discuss and establish the value attributes of Incyte IAI portfolio with US insurers, payers, and PBMs
- Participate and present at national and regional payer and RWE/HEOR congresses in alignment with market access and NAM teams
- Present clinical data to healthcare insurers, payers both private (commercial) and public payers at national, regional, and local levels
- Participate in the design, conduct, analysis, and reporting of RWE / HEOR studies including observational studies
- Be accountable for compliant business practices
- Provide expertise in a cross-functional environment to field-based medical science liaisons as well as internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs functions, Marketing Department, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, and Drug Safety/ Pharmacovigilance Department, Sales Training)
- Collaborate with market access team and National Account Manager (NAM) team to deliver appropriate clinical and real-world evidence (RWE) to US payers
- Provide medical review and expertise and serve as medical monitor for independent investigator-sponsored research (IIR)
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
- PharmD, MS, or PhD, in pharmacoeconomics, health services research or relevant field of study
- Experience in atopic dermatitis and vitiligo is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of direct field outcomes liaison
- Approximately 60-70% domestic travel is required
- Strong insurer/payer insight, understanding of US healthcare stakeholder and reimbursement systems and knowledge of RWE /HEOR data & studies, including economic modeling, HTAs, comparative effectiveness, and disease registries
- Experience with new product launch, preferably in dermatology, inflammation and autoimmunity is highly desirable
- Ability to present and discuss complex clinical, medical, biological, or translational data
- Ability to educate internal stakeholders on disease state and/or product/ brand-specific information.
- Ability to comprehend and combine complex sets of data
- Pharmaceutical industry work experience of at least five (7) years
- Experience in presenting clinical and HEOR data to US insurers and payers including medical directors, policy makers, and P&T committees
- Strong business acumen, vision and perspective
- Ability to partner effectively with Field Medical staff is required
- Medical Affairs, understanding of clinical development and commercial activities is preferred
