Exosphere removes some of the negative impacts that traditional drill hole methodology has by using our sensor based ground solution backed up by Fleet's satellite network providing our customers with near real-time data modelling of subsurface deposits.

The Role


As part of our expanding Operations team, we are seeking to hire a GIS & Technical Support Officer. The role will be working in our Houston office to support our growing US-based customers.


In this role, you will be supporting our clients using the Exosphere product. This includes designing surveys, supporting installs, assisting with troubleshooting, reviewing the health of surveys via QC QA reports and training customers on how to successfully use our product.


The successful candidate will support our customers in the mining and mineral exploration industry. You will work closely with other internal teams for escalation and issue resolution and will be responsible in administering the best technical support to Fleet’s customers. Other duties include designing, presenting and supporting survey designs, as well as conducting product training sessions.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have prior work experience in technical support or Geoscience role, outstanding customer service and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


Main Responsibilities


  • Support hardware updates and refurbishment of Geodes when required.
  • Provide support in designing geo surveys for customers with Exosphere portal.
  • Provide technical support to Fleet’s customers and respond to technical issues and queries via phone, email or onsite within the standard level agreement.
  • Manage and prioritise open tickets and ensure issues are properly documented on Jira.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and provide solutions to resolve technical issues related to Geodes and Exosphere.
  • Perform out of hours and on-call roster as and when required.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate internal team/s such as Software, Manufacturing, etc.
  • Perform product training to educate customers on the usage of the product.
  • Perform QC QA analysis on ongoing surveys to maintain the health and success of customer surveys.
  • Additional duties as reasonably requested by the business.


Key Skills and Experience


  • Flexible, adaptable and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proven customer service experience via phone, email or face-to-face.
  • Understanding of Geology principles.
  • Ability to understand electronics or software development is a bonus but not required.
  • Proficiency in QGIS.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Prior experience in using Jira Service Desk ticketing system.
