Gis Analyst ( Hybrid ) Jobs

BlueWave has an immediate opening for a GIS Analyst on the Corporate Operations team. This team member will support a wide range of energy project needs including map production, spatial and tabular analysis, and other support for site acquisition, interconnection, and development of our rapidly expanding portfolio of solar and standalone storage projects. Your daily activities will include but not be limited to designing digital maps, developing project databases, and implementing systems to access and store geospatial data. You will be expected to run geoprocessing and analysis tasks with increasing complexity, ultimately leading up to automated modelling. After processing the data, you will use it to tell compelling stories about your results through visually appealing and comprehensible maps.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position. Experience with ArcGIS & ESRI and being comfortable with working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, supporting multiple projects in a team- setting are also essential attributes for being successful in this role. You will be getting exposure to the inner workings of the renewables industry and the project development process.

• Preparing internal and external documents and presentations
• Building, updating and maintaining databases and GIS software/hardware
• Standardizing all GIS data input forms and output reports in Salesforce and other platforms for both solar and standalone solar projects
• Performing geospatial data management, analysis and documentation, including designing geodatabases and schema
• Preparing hard copy and electronic figures and field maps in ArcGIS
• Gathering, compiling, migrating and converting data sets for project needs from a variety of internal and external sources
• Researching and conducting tests on new researching tools that use GIS (Bloomberg GridTool, Enverus’ Prism platform, Energy Acuity market intelligence platform)
• Maintaining familiarity with project documentation, regulatory requirement milestones and monitoring project progress against those requirements
• Other duties for which you are qualified
• Designing, developing and implementing systems and databases for the collection of geospatial data
• Performing regional market and competitive analysis as requested
• Collaborating/Coordinating with teams at BlueWave to deliver products that support those teams’ goals and objectives
• Performing quality assurance and reviewing geospatial to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Assisting in representing BlueWave including interactions with investors, engineers, contractors and consultants
• Setting up, collecting, downloading and post-processing GPS data from a wide range of sources, including ArcGIS Online and Trimble GPS Pathfinder

Requirements:

• Superb problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with solar PV siting requirements a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Willingness to learn and grow technically
• Experience with open-source GIS software like QGIS along with the ArcMap ESRI suite
• Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
