Job Description

Robert Half is helping a client find a Full-Charge Bookkeeper for a well-respected client located in Mercer County, NJ. In this role you would be responsible for all bookkeeping functions related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bookkeeping entries for bank and credit card transactions
  • Pay bills and manage cash flow weekly
  • Monitor and report on A/R aging accounts
  • Accounting for pre-paid and accrued expenses
  • Customer invoicing through the accounting system
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
  • Monthly reconciliation of all Balance Sheet Accounts including Bank Accounts and Cash Accounts, Merchant Accounts, Pre-paid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, Unearned Revenue, Deferred Revenue
  • Receive, verify approval, and input vendor invoices and credit card purchases
  • Maintain General Ledger including journal entries & adjustments
  • Verify daily cash drops and make bank deposits
  • Timely filing of State and Local Sales & Use Tax
  • Input daily sales entries into the accounting system



EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong professional communication skills including both verbal and written
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience performing tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports utilizing generally accepted accounting principles
  • Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
