Freight Brokerage Pricing Analyst

Freight Brokerage Pricing Analyst

Our client is looking to hire an experience Pricing Analyst to join their team.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Manage/execute bid cycle including RFP process, awards and rate contracting phases.
• Utilize overall knowledge of company bid-rate structure to complete pricing submissions against critical (and often narrow) deadlines set by customers.
• Organize and prioritize RFP requests in CRM and ensure all data is uploaded and up to date.
• The role requires advanced reporting and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
• Analyze and implement pricing based on current market prices vs. historical trends, company cost structure, business growth objectives and profitability targets.
• Research pricing discrepancies and reporting findings.
• Generate recurring and ad-hoc reporting on accounts, plus ability to summarize trends.
• Day-to-day management of all pricing activities, troubleshooting, managing exceptions, as well as performing ad-hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives: examples include detailed customer account studies and analytics, cost modeling, ongoing database management, etc.
• Monitor schedule of outstanding proposals through multiple rounds of pricing updates.
• Compile customer bid data and incorporate analytical data from established tools to assist in determining optimal pricing strategies.
• Update database with new and revised contract rate terms for both spot and fixed term pricing, and maintain detailed records of completed agreements.

Experience

• Conflict resolution: Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a rapport with others. Know how to be persuasive with the ability to stay calm.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University with a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain/Logistics.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload; ability to meet deadlines.
• Self-motivation: Having a positive attitude, strong sense of urgency, and the initiative to work independently.
• Expert knowledge in Excel (V-look-up/Pivot table a must), Power BI, Tableau or other data warehousing tools.
• Possess strong communication skills (both oral and written).
• Must have demonstrated critical thinking skills and be process oriented.
• Organized: Must be highly organized, can multi-task, has good time management skills and attention to detail.
• 3–5+ years pricing experience required. Transportation or Logistics industry experience required.
• Confidential: Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Computer literate and strong data analytic skills.
• Interpersonal: Must possess strong interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).
• Experience summarizing results and producing reports using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
