Position Purpose
Lead and manage the processing, quality assurance and execution of promotional / clearance / retail price changes, labels and coupons for the Petco/Unleashed/EComm stores and Services. Directly supervise the team members providing this support and partner with Business Unit Leaders to optimize procedural effectiveness. Coordinate with the Merchant, Visual Presentation, Store Operations and Compliance teams to maximize customer satisfaction. Recommend process and system enhancements to maintain pricing accuracy and improve labor efficiencies at the NSC, SSC and store levels. Review and identify Weights and Measures violations and issues and work with appropriate teams to resolve.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and/or collaborate in the preparation of field and operations communications in order to ensure proper and actionable (timely) information is provided on pricing activities
• Utilize the Oracle RPM/RMS applications including available PC tools and organizational resources to implement price activities to drive traffic and maximize profitably.
• Provide direction and assistance for a 3rd party to ensure all assigned duties/tasks are completed on time and accurately. Establish collaborative relationships through written and verbal communication, regular training workshops, and cultural awareness.
• Drive the development of training and job aids in collaboration with cross-functional partners. Conduct training with internal partners when applicable to ensure compliance in accordance to Petco policies and procedures as well as legal requirements.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and interact professionally at all times; communicate on a regular basis with Merchandising, Ecommerce, Legal, Visual, Marketing and other key stakeholders to ensure program success; this position may interact with Petco senior leaders
• Project manage a wide array of Pricing related processes with the spirit of continuous improvement and efficiency to ensure Petco business objectives are met and in compliance with legal requirements. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and develop strategic business priorities; initiate and champion supporting policy, process, tracking, and technology enhancements; and facilitate execution internally and externally across the enterprise.
• Supervise the process and administer Pricing Activities to include but not limited to promotions, clearance, coupons, price/cost changes and to achieve targeted financial objectives within planned levels of field resources.
• Create and nurture a 'shared-vision' environment of collaboration, partnership and open discussion with direct reports and other Petco team members and stakeholders, both internal and external, that establishes and communicates clear and realistic goals, objectives and functional roles and are aligned with the company financial plan; use objective means to monitor progress toward those goals; effectively coordinate team members in order to meet timelines.
• Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that legal and regulatory issues/concerns within the Pricing area of responsibility are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved. Identifies potential areas of risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

Collaborate with Merchandise Directors, BUL leaders and other functional area stakeholders Recognize and seize upon opportunities to maximize sales, profitability and labor efficiency Champion change management efforts through the effective utilization of the talent of team members
Planning and Problem Solving
This position will develop, design and execute Pricing programs and policies to maximize the effectiveness of Merchandising strategies, operational plans and margin growth.
Requires strong project management skills in support of event planning with long lead-times and modifications submitted on an iterative basis. Incumbent must be able to prioritize work streams to meet project deadlines and direct internal/external resources accordingly. Problem solving topics include business process, system functionality and managing to financial targets for labor/supply expense.
Impact
Support enterprise pricing strategies to ensure accurate and timely delivery of all promotional and markdown activities for merchandising, Ecomm and service departments. Guide Merchant teams in building promotional offers that satisfy internal audit requirements and state weights & measures regulations. Recommend enhancements to business processes and systems to improve workflow effectiveness and labor efficiency for support centers and field teams.
Supervisory Responsibility
Direct and manage a small staff comprised of pricing associates, including Label Coordinators, Pricing Specialists and Pricing Assistants. Responsibilities include training, mentoring/coaching, providing functional guidance, assignment delegation and follow-through. Other management tasks include, but are not limited to, providing input and direction on such topics as key goals and objectives; implementation and execution; budgetary issues; associate management, training and development.
Education/Experience
Normally requires a bachelor’s degree or a qualified applicant will possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 3-5 years’ work experience demonstrating organizational, project management, analytical skills preferably in a retail environment. Supervisory experience of a similar scope of work is preferred. Intermediate level knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software with the ability to quickly learn position specific software.
Work Environment
The majority of job duties are performed while standing or sitting indoors with little or no exposure to hazards. Some travel may be required to support relationships, strategic planning and marketing/pricing execution. Non-Standard work hours may be required. .

This role must work seamlessly across various functional areas. Building a strong working relationship with the merchandising and operations group is of particular importance. Will establish rapport with business partners and be open to feedback and challenges regarding merchandising concepts.
