Job Title: Food and Beverage Manager

Location: Los Angeles Tennis Club


The Los Angeles Tennis Club is seeking a skilled and motivated Food and Beverage Manager to oversee the daily operations of our food and beverage department. The ideal candidate must have a passion for food and hospitality, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing successful F&B operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of servers, bartenders, and food runners to ensure excellent performance and member satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and ABC regulations and guidelines.
  • Oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operations, including menu planning, inventory management, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Ensure that the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service are consistently met.
  • Cultivate a positive and productive work environment by leading and motivating the team.
  • Show genuine hospitality to all members, guests, and staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability of the department.


Requirements:

  • Proven track record of managing successful F&B operations.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage industry trends and best practices.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a reputable private club or high-end hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field, or proven experience in the industry.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

II. Job Summary

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage service at Los Angeles Tennis Club. The F&B manager will lead and supervise the entire front-of-the-house food and beverage operations, plan and implement budgets, hire, train, and supervise about 10 hourly team members, and apply relevant marketing principles to exceed the wants and needs of club members and guests.


III. Job Tasks (Duties)

  • Daily to ensure the highest level of member satisfaction at minimum cost.
  • Research new products and analyze the cost/profit benefits.
  • Ensure effective orientation and training for new staff and plan professional development activities for experienced staff.
  • Review new techniques for bar preparation and presentation to maximize
  • Assist with supervising the remodeling, refurbishment, and other building design enhancements applicable to food and beverage service.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and approve menus for outlets and special events.
  • Responsible for the proper accounting and reconciliation of the Point-of-Sale systems and member revenues.
  • Monitor purchasing and receiving procedures for products and supplies to ensure proper quantity, quality, and price for all purchases.
  • Monitor employee dress codes according to LATC’s policies and procedures.
  • Plan and approve club events as well as marketing and sales promotion activities for the food and beverage department.
  • Ensure correct handling procedures to minimize china and glassware breakage and food waste.
  • Maintain appearance, upkeep, and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities.
  • Lead in planning and implementing procedures for special club events and banquet functions.
  • Ensure that an accurate reservation system is in place.
  • Establish quantity and quality output standards for personnel in all positions within the department.
  • Maintain food and beverage personnel records.
  • Implement and monitor sanitation and cleaning schedules.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for service, revenue, and cost control.
  • Ensure timely correspondence with all catering guests, including inquiries, follow-ups, contracts, billings, and thank-you letters.
  • Manage physical inventory verification and provide prompt and updated information to the accounting department.
  • Manage the long-range staffing needs of the F&B department.
  • Develop an operating budget for the F&B department; monitor and take corrective action as necessary to achieve budget goals.
  • Plan and approve the organizational chart, staffing, scheduling procedures, and job description/specifications for all F&B department staff.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the food and beverage department.
  • Member and guest satisfaction and minimize beverage costs.
  • Serve as an ad-hoc member of appropriate club committees.
  • Consult with the Executive Chef and other applicable club administrators
  • Address member and guest complaints and advise the General Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken.
  • Complete periodic china, glass, silverware, and banquet equipment inventories.
  • Develop interesting ways of promoting club functions in the dining room, Bar, and other areas of the club.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including wage and hour laws and laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages.
  • Audit and approve weekly payroll.
  • Develop ongoing professional development and training programs for bar production/service personnel.
  • Develop wine lists and bottle/glass wine programs.
  • Greet guests and oversee actual service daily.
  • Approve all product invoices before submitting them to the accounting department.
  • Maintain records of special events, house counts, food covers, and daily business volumes.
  • Periodically inspect the facility to ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance, and other LATC standards.

  • Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience.
