The Training Program in Food and Beverage provides for a comprehensive managerial training opportunity in our signature restaurant Astra, Private Dining, The St. Regis Bar, as well as Banquets. The training will be provided by managers within the departments. The training program will provide opportunities to:

  • Learn how to provide feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors.
  • Learn on how to handle employee questions and concerns.
  • Participate in department meetings and learn to communicate a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with all restaurant policies, standards and procedures.
  • Manage aspects of the day-to-day operation of Private Dining.
  • Manage aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Astra restaurant and The St. Regis Bar.
  • Monitor alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws.
  • Learn about the collective bargaining agreement and the application of negotiated work rules.
  • Ensure that guest service is executed as per brand standards.
  • Ensure that opening and closing duties are followed.
  • Assist in creating schedules in accordance with applicable seniority rules.
  • Learn on how to resolve staff grievances effectively.
  • Ensure that inventory controls are adhered to.
  • Learn on how to ensure employees performance expectations are met.
  • Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
  • Communicate to Chef and Restaurant Manager any issues regarding food quality and service levels.
