Job Description

The Club is seeking a Food and Beverage Supervisor, which is an onsite, entry level, full time position. Job Summary

Assist the Food and Beverage Director with supervision of all food and beverage staff.

Must be knowledgeable in all areas of dining service, including wine knowledge.

Will ensure that all standards of service are consistent and must have a passion for quality and excellence.

Must have experience in conducting service-training programs for a la carte and banquet training.

Will be responsible for ordering restaurant supplies, stock control and inventory of restaurant supplies.

Will assist other management with Club events when required.

Must have excellent verbal and written skills.

Must show an ability to work effectively with other management staff and club members.


Job Tasks

Provides members and guests with premier service in every aspect of the main clubhouse food and beverage operation.


Assists the Food and Beverage Director in maintaining a top-flight food and beverage operation with excellent presentation with exceptional ambiance in support of the club’s reputation for the food and beverage operation as one of the cornerstones of the club’s heritage.


Oversees and implements a comprehensive and on-going training program complete with

up-to-date training manuals to ensure exceptional service in all parts of the club’s food and beverage operation.


Conducts regular informative daily shift meetings.


Assist the Food and Beverage Director with support of the needs of the food and beverage service teams.


Ensures that a positive spirit and healthy working environment exists throughout the departments, one that is free of safety risks.


Supervises and supports the captains, servers, bus persons, bartenders and functions as an administrative and communicative link between departments.


Guarantees that all food and beverage service employees are regularly trained and certified in areas that help guard the safety and well-being of members and other employees including, but not limited to, responsible alcohol service, safe food handling and such.


Maintains an up-to-date point-of-sale management information system, which can be counted on for timely and accurate information.


Monitors employee records to avoid overtime and maintain labor costs within budget.


Understands and abides by St. Francis Yacht Club policies and departmental procedures.


Assists the Food and Beverage Director with the general care, maintenance and upkeep of all department food and beverage service equipment.


Consistently assures, the food and beverage department is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws. This includes exacting control over state-monitored areas such as alcoholic beverage sales, sanitation and hygiene.


Keeps Food and Beverage Director informed of all potential problems and activities related to the smooth operation of the Dining Rooms. Enforces house rules as they apply to the food and beverage areas of the club.


Disseminates information and coordinates activities with other departments on a timely basis.


“On the floor “presence overseeing the daily operations and service in all dining rooms. Provides “hands on” support and ongoing training to the service staff to ensure that the member experience is of the highest quality.


Opens and/or closes the dining rooms based on schedule provided by the Food and Beverage Director.
