Job Description
What to Expect

The Cathode maintenance team is expanding its scope of responsibility to include the design, maintain, installation and management of all aspects of new manufacturing lines. You will work closely with internal stakeholders (infrastructure, equipment design team, process design team, automation, purchasing, and program management) and external contractors and vendors in order to deliver an integrated manufacturing solution. This specific role with support the fire suppression system for the buildings, all associated permitting requirements, inspections and any duties related to the building permit with regards to fire protection.

What You’ll Do
  • NICET certifications and manufacturer training (Honeywell/Notifier) preferred
  • Oversee team to verify circuits and terminations have been completed by performing internal quality inspections once installation has been complete
  • Generate ITM schedule for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inspections of all LSS and fire systems on site
  • Experience in various Gas Detection systems equipment and software
  • Comprehensive knowledge in OSHA, IFC, IBC, and NFPA standards and codes to ensure fire alarm, special hazards and water-based systems and life safety system’s installation are done correctly per code
  • Manage training of onsite personnel quarterly on the functions of special hazard and sprinkler systems within the facility to ensure understanding of functions
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of LSS and Fire Alarm network, equipment, and software
  • Liaison with Fire Marshal and/or AHJ for scheduled walkthroughs for system verification and space sell off to obtain occupancy
  • Ensure all LSS and Fire Systems are compliant with local and federal regulations and NFPA codes
  • Manage team to perform full function tests on all LSS and fire systems for Fire Marshal witness prior to full Certificate of Occupancy
  • In circumstances that call for system impairment, generate impairment plan with EHS to present to the AHJ
  • Oversee budget for design changes and new scope involving LSS and fire system installation and discuss alternate means of system installation with design if need be
  • Coordinate with installation contractor to ensure installation completion dates are met per occupancy schedule and report blockers that may slow production of the installation process
  • Coordinate with manufacturing during ITM periods to ensure that inspections of LSS and fire systems does not impact any of Cathode processing
  • Oversee design to ensure any changes to the space have been documented and addressed by field engineering walkthroughs
What You’ll Bring
Requirements
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering/technology, controls, electrical engineering or related engineering degree
  • Familiar with NFPA fire code
  • Professional Engineer license preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of experience and sufficient fire prevention knowledge and skills
