Job Description
What to Expect

Tesla is looking to hire a research technician with experience in lab and pilot plant facilities. This candidate will be a core member of an interdisciplinary materials development team that is focused on developing innovative cell technologies to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

What You’ll Do
  • Stringent material and process data documentation and evaluation
  • Analytical testing and bulk property measurements
  • Support of scale up and process development activities
  • Mainly focused on cell active materials synthesis and analytics
  • Materials research and recipe development
  • General characterization of powder materials: sample preparation for SEM, ICP, Tap density, etc.
What You’ll Bring
  • At least 2 years of hands-on research (university or industry) experience in disciplines like metallurgy, inorganic chemistry, chemistry or materials science.
  • Demonstrable experience in materials synthesis as well as advanced analytical techniques common to materials characterization – examples: PSA, BET, SEM, XRD, ICP, FTIR, UV-VIS
  • Must have a sense for hazards and process safety and be able to work independently or with others
  • Capability to analyze and correlate complex process and analytical data with material properties and application performance
  • Committed to performance, quality and safety
  • Must be able to demonstrate meticulous organizational and data management skills
